Finally, the Damn Dirty Geeks can reveal our newest podcast feature: Uncle Ira’s Basement, a series of mini-podcast episodes — oh, you might call them Seed Pods — in which the Geeks discuss movies, TV and genre topics we love, hate or are indifferent to in short 10-minute shows.

The Damn Dirty Geeks debut our new mini-podcast feature Uncle Ira's Basement.
The show title was inspired by our mutual love of Don Siegel’s 1956 thriller INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS, in which Kevin McCarthy discovers alien seed pods in Uncle Ira’s Basement, awaiting to take over Dana Wynter’s body. The DDG hope that our UIB episodes will likewise take over your mind in between our regular full-length episodes.

SHOW NOTES:

Trivia: TROG was Joan Crawford’s final film in her career. The actress was also on the Pepsi-Cola board of directors and assured that several product placement for Pepsi-Cola appeared in her later films. In TROG, watch for the terrified villagers running past a Pepsi stand.

Trivia: The dinosaur scenes appearing in this film were originally stop-motion animation sequences created by Willis O’Brien and Ray Harryhausen for the Irwin Allen film THE ANIMAL WORLD in 1956.
