PLANET OF THE APES DAY Fan Event Date and Venue Announcement
ANNOUNCING A NEW DATE AND VENUE FOR PLANET OF THE APES DAY 2016!
The Damn Dirty Geeks’ second annual gathering to celebrate the classic 1968 film PLANET OF THE APES and all its sequels, remakes and re-imaginings is now happening on Saturday, April 2, 2016.
We are hosting this fan meet up event at the Idle Hour Cafe in North Hollywood, CA (map below) beginning at 5:00pm on April 2nd, and we invite all POTA fans locally and around our planet to attend, either in person or via social media platforms online!
If you’re in the Los Angeles area and plan to attend our POTA Day event, please RSVP on our Facebook event page and note that you plan to be here in person so we can get a headcount, as our event space is limited.
For those who can’t attend in person, we encourage fans in other cities to join us via Skype and Facebook, of course. You’re welcome to RSVP to our Facebook event page, but please note that you’ll be joining in online only — where there’s unlimited room for you APES fans to join us!
More details will follow soon on the event content and activities, perhaps including some special guests joining the Damn Dirty Geeks and unique POTA Day items.

DDG FAN EVENT AT PLANET OF THE APES SCREENING IN JULY
Local L.A. based APES fans! The Damn Dirty Geeks are planning an APES fan gathering built around the TCM screening of the 1968 original PLANET OF THE APES on Sunday July 24th at 2pm in Burbank! DDG event details to be announced.

This fan event will follow up the DDG’s 2nd Annual PLANET OF THE APES Day celebration, planned for April 3, 2016 as another APES fan gathering timed for the 48th anniversary of the 1968 film’s theatrical release. Details will be announced in the near future, so don’t get lost in a Hasselein Curve through time and space!

On April 3rd, 1968, one of the greatest science fiction films in the history of cinema opened in wide release to the unsuspecting audiences of America. Please join the Damn Dirty Geeks on Sunday April 3rd, 2016, as we celebrate the Second Annual PLANET OF THE APES DAY. RSVP to our event on Facebook then share it with your friends, human and simian alike!
The first annual PLANET OF THE APES DAY held on April 3, 2015 was a huge online success, with over 300 fans attending the virtual holiday from around our own planet! The Damn Dirty Geeks recorded a very special episode of our podcast starring comedian Dana Gould which paid fond and funny tribute to our favorite talking apes, sequel films and much more. Once again, we invite fans of the series to watch your favorite or all of the APES films, post your memories, your artwork, your collections and cosplay on the POTA DAY 2016 event page. We’re planning to host a local POTA DAY gathering of fans in Los Angeles, and we’ll encourage other cities around the planet to join us via Skype and Facebook, of course.
