Starting today, Google Play Music is rolling out podcast content on their app, giving you another outlet providing Damn Dirty Geeks episodes. This rollout is gradual, so you may not find podcast content on the Google Play Music app immediately, but we’re there. Android users will probably get podcast access earliest, but whenever your app catches up, add us to your library and stream the DDG!

The DDG are a 2015 Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Award Nominee

The ballot for the 14th Annual Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards has been revealed and we’re happy to announce that the Damn Dirty Geeks podcast has been nominated for Best Multimedia Horror Site of 2015!

Our podcast is nominated in category 17 for Best Multimedia Horror Site. We’re nominated with some stiff competition and perennial nominees in this category, but the DDG are quite honored to be nominated for the first year of our podcast.

Two DDG-Made Parodies Add Laughs to our JAWS Podcasts

As we publish Part 1 of our Damn Dirty Geeks podcast episode with special guest Greg Nicotero about JAWS, we have two extra barrels to tag the shark with in our arsenal that you’ll enjoy: two comedy short films poking fun at JAWS that were made by our very own Frank Dietz, Frank Woodward and Jack Bennett. Though made decades apart, three of our DDG team made a couple of biting parodies of JAWS we now include with our episode to further illustrate how Steven Spielberg’s 1975 beach-emptying thriller firmly embedded its teeth into pop culture.

Flashing Back to the STAR WARS Originals and Prequels

Throughout the Damn Dirty Geek’s four podcasts (and counting) discussing the STAR WARS films, we have discussed, debated and argued about how George Lucas’ Prequel Trilogy changed the meaning and context of classic moments from the Original Trilogy films. Meanwhile, a fan made video has edited some Prequels scenes into a flashback through Alec Guinness’ memorable speech describing Anakin Skywalker’s death to his son Luke, that comes surprisingly close to supporting our podcast point about the Sequels.
